Stories Etched in the Trails, Trees & Buildings of the Edge
From hand-carved ravens to forest-side trailheads, the North Shore Edge is filled with places that speak—if you know how to listen. We acknowledge with deep respect that these places exist on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation, and the Coast Salish Peoples including the Squamish and Musqueam. Their relationship with the land continues to guide and ground this region.
Landmarks & Local Lore is where we explore the stories behind the places—some well-known, others hidden in plain sight. It might be the tale behind a sculpture at the edge of the inlet, a community hall with decades of dances and debates, or a trail whose name still sparks curiosity.
We invite you to share local insights, memories, or historical tidbits about a landmark on the North Shore Edge! From trails to totems, street names to murals—let’s bring the stories of these places into the light.
