About
The 30 Foot Pool Loop is a 4.7 km moderately challenging trail that starts conveniently from Lillooet Road, offering a scenic and quieter way to access Lynn Canyon without the crowds typically found at the Suspension Bridge. Taking an average of 1 hour and 21 minutes to complete, this loop is a perfect forest escape on The North Shore Edge, combining lush rainforest trails, canyon views, and boardwalks with a stop at one of the North Shore’s best-known natural features — 30 Foot Pool, a crystal-clear swimming hole in the canyon. This year-round loop is popular for hiking and running, with dogs welcome on leash, and offers a great way to experience Lynn Canyon starting right from the community’s edge.
Special Features
Beginning from Lillooet Road, the trail follows the Berm Trail, a smooth, unshaded gravel path that makes for a gentle entry into the forest. It soon connects with sections of the Baden Powell Trail, where the path becomes more immersed in rainforest, winding through towering trees, wooden boardwalks, and staircases. As you approach Lynn Canyon, you’ll find 30 Foot Pool, a stunning natural swimming hole — chilly even in summer — and a popular spot for a refreshing break. The loop avoids the busiest points of Lynn Canyon, offering a quieter alternative while still showing off its best features. With gentle ups and downs, it’s manageable for a wide range of hikers, including those looking for a quick nature fix without going too far into the backcountry
North Shore Edge Tip
Starting from Lillooet Road makes this a great loop for anyone looking to explore Lynn Canyon from the eastern side, avoiding the traffic and parking congestion of the main park entrance. Enjoy a peaceful approach through Berm Trail, then reward yourself with a break by 30 Foot Pool — and if you’re up for it, dip your toes in the water! Wear sturdy shoes for the boardwalks and stairs, and as always, pack out what you pack in to keep The North Shore Edge trails beautiful for everyone.
