About
Bordered by the Seymour River and the Maplewood Flats Conservation Area, Maplewood is a North Vancouver neighbourhood where history, nature, and modern living come together. Once an industrial hub and home to a unique community of artists and writers, Maplewood has transformed into a vibrant residential and commercial district that maintains deep ties to its ecological and cultural heritage. At its heart is Northwoods Village, a lively centre featuring Stong’s Market, cafés, and essential services, while nearby Maplewood Farm and Maplewood Flats offer family-friendly experiences and natural retreats. With new sustainable housing developments, scenic walking trails, and a commitment to preserving its rich environmental and historical legacy, Maplewood is a gateway to outdoor adventure and a thriving, connected community on The North Shore Edge.
Established in 1975, this beloved five-acre working farm brings a touch of rural charm to the city. Home to over 200 animals and birds, it’s a favourite spot for families, school groups, and visitors looking to experience farm life.
A 126-hectare wildlife sanctuary managed by the Wild Bird Trust of BC, this area is home to over 200 bird species and features tranquil walking trails, tidal flats, and a rich ecological history. Once a squatter community inhabited by writers and loggers, it is now one of the most important conservation areas on the North Shore.
The community’s bustling commercial hub, Northwoods Village offers shopping, dining, and everyday essentials. Anchored by Stong’s Market, it provides a mix of local businesses, restaurants, and services, making it a convenient and lively gathering place.
