The Seymour Canyon and Lynn Canyon Loop is an 8.4 km loop trail offering a moderately challenging but beginner-friendly route that connects some of The Edge’s most scenic river and canyon landscapes. Taking an average of 2 hours and 32 minutes to complete, this trail starts at the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve (LSCR) parking lot at the end of Lillooet Road, making it easy to access and well-connected to other North Shore trail networks. Perfect for hikers looking to combine lush forest, canyon views, and river crossings, this loop features a little bit of everything — from boardwalks and bridges to riverside gravel paths and gentle forest climbs. Open year-round, it’s a great choice for a scenic hike or a longer trail run, with dogs welcome on leash.

Special Features Starting from LSCR, the loop begins on a smooth boardwalk stretch of the Baden Powell Trail, following the Lynn Headwaters with peaceful river views and dense forest. 30 Foot Pool, a beautiful swimming hole, is easily accessible along this stretch before hikers ascend a staircase and transition onto Homestead Trail, with its gravel ramp descent. From there, the route flows into Fisherman’s Trail, a wide, flat gravel path running alongside the Seymour River, offering plenty of photo opportunities and access to the water’s edge. One of the highlights is the Seymour River Suspension Bridge, a perfect stop for views and photos. The trail reconnects with the Baden Powell Trail via a small bridge and a short, steep winding section, before returning to a gentle boardwalk pathway leading back to LSCR. Although this loop is popular and often busy, it’s well-suited for newer hikers and families looking for a longer but manageable adventure. While the trail is well-defined and marked with small maps along the way, using an offline map is recommended for reassurance, as cell reception can be limited in some sections.

North Shore Edge Tip Starting this loop from the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve means you’ll have ample parking and avoid the busier entrances to Lynn Canyon. If you’re looking for a mix of forest, river views, and bridges, this is a great year-round option. Bring a snack to enjoy at 30 Foot Pool or the suspension bridge, and watch for cyclists sharing parts of the trail.
